Disney have been behind some of the most magical movies – with each fo them touching the hearts of people across the globe.
Some movies were popular enough to get sequels, trilogies, or even be turned into full-blown franchise. Others – some of the most beloved titles – were remade decades later (yes, we’re talking about all those live-action remakes of the animated classics).
Well, one company sought out to find out which Disney film was the most successful of all time.
PlayLikeMum looked at box office figures and Metacritic scores to find out which Disney film was the most successful – and which remakes performed the best.
The research has found the most successful animated Disney movie is, in fact, Snow White And the Seven Dwarfs.
This was followed by Fantasia, 101 Dalmatians, The Lion King (the 1994 one, that is) and Pinocchio to round out the top five.
Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3 and Cinderella (1950) all make the list of the top 10.
When it comes to the live-action films, though, things are a liiiiitle different.
According to the research, Mary Poppins has fans feeling supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – as it is the top of the live action movies.
This is followed by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest; Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and The Jungle Book (1994).
Also included in the top 10 are The Lion King (2019); The Jungle Book (2016); Cinderella (2015); The Parent Trap (1961); and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
