Hot on the heels of the news that The Mindy Project had been cancelled, this week brings more bad news for comedy fans - in particular fans of New Girl.
The Zooey Deschanel-led sitcom has been a ratings winner for four seasons now and a fifth season has been commissioned - but it was nowhere to be seen in the autumn schedule.
Instead, bosses at the channel have held the series back for a midseason premiere - meaning stateside viewers will have to wait until January to see the show. This likely means an even longer wait for European viewers.
In the meantime, some reruns may have to sustain us.
