Brian McFadden issues statement after Westlife announce tour dates

Olivia Hayes

Last night, Westlife announced their first tour in seven years (and it includes three big Irish gigs).

They will be playing back-to-back nights at Belfast’s SSE Arena (May 25 and May 26), as well as a tour-ending gig at Dublin’s Croke Park on July 5.

The tickets go on sale next week and, we’d imagine, are going to be selling very fast – so you’ll have to move quickly if you want to get your hands on them.

Before the lads announced they were getting back together, many wondered if original bandmate Brain McFadden would be joining the reunion. There were then rumours of a rift between the group and Brian.

However, he tweeted last night after the tour was announced, and wished them all the best.

He said: “Wishing the boys the best of luck with the tour. 20 years at the top is an incredible achievement. I had a wonderful six years with the boys but I have nothing but admiration for the lads working their asses off for this long! Long may it continue boys. Flying the flag X.”

It doesn’t seem like there’s a rift anywhere near him and the boys!
