Charlie Brooker has confirmed this massive Black Mirror fan theory

Not long left to go now.

The new series comes back on December 29.

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker has confirmed a huge fan theory about the fourth season of the anthology show.

For those of you that haven’t seen the series, Black Mirror taps into our collective unease with the modern world.

Each stand-alone episode is a sharp, suspenseful tale which explores themes of contemporary techno-paranoia.

And while Brooker usually remains tight lipped about what’s to come in the Netflix series, he’s shared a pretty big detail about what’s to come.

But with the recent news of the show’s impending return, viewers began to question if there was something more to the stories.

Fans began to wonder if one of the upcoming episodes in the upcoming season four – Black Museum – would be paying tribute to every episode that came before it.

And, as it turns out, they would be right. Kind of, anyways.

The show’s creator Charlie Brooker was recently asked if the episode would prove that Black Mirror is set within one universe.

He told Express

“It does sort of…it is and it isn’t one universe. I think ‘Black Museum’ refers to almost every episode we’ve ever done.

“We always used to say it’s a shared universe but then I started to say it’s a psychologically shared universe and now some of the episodes are definitely connected because there’s specific references within that story to things we’ve seen in other episodes.”

Most of the details about the hotly anticipated fourth season have been kept under wraps so far – with only a few short trailers having been released in recent weeks.

There will be six new stories featured in the series;  Arkangel, USS Callister, Crocodile, Hang the DJ, Metalhead, and Black Museum.
