The year is 2020 and Lizzie McGuire is returning to your screen.

Yesterday, Disney Channel gave fans the sneak peek they were waiting for by dropping a Disney 2020 teaser trailer of all that’s coming this year.

In that montage was a quick clip of Hilary Duff reprising her role as Lizzie McGuire by leaning in a car window saying: “Hey, it’s me!”

The 31-year-old took to the stage at the D23 Expo last year, where she announced that the iconic 2000s Disney series would be headed back to telly screens.

So far we know the series is due to air this year and that all the McGuire family will to be coming back. Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas will reprise their roles as mom Jo, dad Sam and brother Matt.

Terri Minsky, the original creator of the show will also be returning as show-runner for the upcoming series.

“We are incredibly excited to bring back one of the most popular Disney Channel series of all time along with some beloved and familiar faces,” Ricky Strauss, Disney+ president, content & marketing, told PEOPLE.

An old love interest is also expected to return for Lizzie and so, prepare to see lots of familiar faces on the screen plus being overcome with serious nostalgia.

Speaking about bringing the character to life as an adult, Hilary said:

She’s everyone’s best friend and what everyone loves about her is how relatable she is, so I really wanna go on that 30-year-old journey with everybody.”
