GBBO may have won Christmas with this hilarious (musical) trailer

Will you be tuning in?

The Great British Bake Off is really getting into the holiday spirit this year.

And no, it doesn’t involve making a trifle or a Christmas pudding (although we’d definitely love to see that on December 25).

The judges and hosts of the Channel 4 baking show have gone fully festive this year with a musical number.

To celebrate Christmas (and promote the upcoming holiday specials), Prue Leith, Paul Hollywood, Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding filmed a seasonal parody of East 17s Stay Another Day.

Because ’tis the season, and all that.

The group have gone all out for the parody of the black-and-white ’90s music video – fluffy white coasts and all – and we’ve got to say, they look pretty spot on.

Just check out the video below for comparison – although, be warned, it’ll definitely get stuck in your head.

The short clip was filmed as a promo for The Great Festive Bake Off, which will be feature a cameo from East 17’s Tony Mortimer.

The popular baking competition will bring back previous contestants for not one but two seasonal specials this year.

Putting their baking skills to the test once again will be series six’s Paul Jagger and Sandy Docherty, Rob Billington from 2011, and Beca Lyne-Pirkis of series four.

Meanwhile, four contestants from the BBC’s last series will be taking part: Selasi Gbormittah, Val Stones, Benjamina Ebuehi and Rav Bansal.

The first of the festive features, The Great Christmas Bake Off, will air on Christmas Day, with The Great Festive Bake Off airing on New Year’s Day.

Both of the shows will air at 7.40pm on Channel 4.
