The creators of the Harry Potter films are planning a tv reunion later this month, to celebrate the 20th anniversary.

The Harry Potter films are one of the most celebrated franchises in cinema history.

And now, movie bosses are planning a filmed reunion which will include the main characters with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Emma Watson (Hermione), and Rupert Grint (Ron).

It is 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released in 2001, many of the cast have since moved on from the franchise but as a source told The Sun “the movies launched them to superstardom.”

Following Warner Bros’ success with the Friends reunion, they plan to make a similar sit-down style show for Harry Potter fans. It is also set to include some iconic recreations from the 8 part movie series such as making the journey to Hogwarts from the 9 and 3/4 platform and the Christmas Yule Ball.

The show is being kept under wraps for the time being, “the proposed show is being shrouded in secrecy as franchise bosses want to get talent locked in first.”

Supporting actors have also been contacted to take part in the reunion with invitations being sent out for the recording to take place in London at the Warner Bros Studio Tour.

Many of the actors shot to fame after the franchise so it could be a star-studded lineup with the likes of Tom Felton who played Draco Malfoy and Evanna Lynch who was Luna Lovegood.

Chris Columbus who directed Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has also come out to say he wants to direct a film adaption of JK Rowling’s play, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. He also wishes to cast the original three main characters again with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.

The play took to the stage at Broadway in 2018 and is a firm favourite among fans.

It has been 10 years since the last Harry Potter movie was released in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, but the franchise is still one of the most successful film series ever with an estimated worth of over $25 billion.
