'It's inevitable': Legacies bosses tease the return of a massive Vampire Diaries character
Oooh, we would love this.
Legacies bosses have teased the return of a massive Vampire Diaries character.
The Vampire Diaries spin-off has brought some familiar faces back to Mystic Falls (like Jeremy Gilbert, Matt Donavan and Jo Parker) - and it looks like one more may be returning soon.
And speaking to AfterBuzz TV at San Diego Comic Con, Legacies creator Julie Plec and Brett Matthews teased the "inevitable" return of Malachi 'Kai' Parker.
In case you need a refresher, Kai (played by Chris Wood) was the major villain in The Vampire Diaries' sixth season.
He was the one who was stuck in the 1994 prison world with Bonnie and Damon, and who - much, much later - was behind linking Elena and Bonnie's lives.
“We’re coming for you, Chris Wood. Get ready,” Plec teased, while discussing the upcoming second season fo the show.
“It’s inevitable, Chris Wood. Like, we know where you live," Matthews added.
And Kaylee Bryant - who plays Josie Saltzman - added that she had been hoping for Kai's possible return "since I got cast."
“You don’t understand. I’ve literally been dropping hints about Kai Parker since, like, I got cast. I was like, oh, so like, just so you know, like, my favorite character is Kai Parker. Like, just so you know. Like, if you know, if you care about me at all ... if you want to pick it up what I’m putting down.
"Um, so the fact that I read the script for, was it, the finale that we pulled out the ascendant. I looked at Brett Matthews, one of our writers, and I was like, 'are we doing this? Are we doing this?'
"He’s like, 'I’m not saying anything'. I was like 'you’re only not saying anything to me' because he knows I’m so insane about Kai Parker."
Legacies airs over on The CW in North America. There's no word on when it will be arriving on telly over here.
