TikTok shows just how extreme Irish dads can be

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Got to love an Irish dad in an airport.

TikTok is truly a place full of gems, there’s never a dull moment on the app and we always get a good kick out of some of the videos on there.

But once you get onto Irish TikTok, it’s a whole other ball game, and this one is no different.

We all know how hectic Dublin Airport can be, and for this one dad, we got to see just how crazy his airport run was when his daughter filmed it for a hilarious TikTok.

Dads always seem to take extreme measures when it comes to travelling abroad, always being on top of everything, and having a plan in action that’s crazily strict and precise.

And that’s exactly what Abbey Strong’s dad was like as she documented their journey, from her dad’s need to assert his “dominance” by being first on the escalator to not speaking to his daughter Emily after he discovered she hadn’t packed her liquids “a week in advance.”

Naturally, he was also holding the passports hostage so nobody could lose theirs, just as we’d expect.

In a race against time to get to gate 420 to catch their flight to Amsterdam, the family arrived in “record time” for their 6.40am trip, all thanks to their dad’s over the top organisation.

Taking to the comments, his wife said: “This is me (the mam) husband does the driving, everything else is up to me.”

Keeping doing you Abbey’s dad.
