Anything but this show…

ITV has reportedly slashed The Masked Dancer from its schedule following a massive shake up.

The reality series focuses on a group of masked stars as they battle on stage with only their dancing abilities as the judges make guesses at which celebrity could be hidden behind the mask.

The series is hosted by comedian Joel Dommett and the judging panel consists of stars like Peter Crouch, Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall.

While the series has been a major hit with viewers, ITV has reportedly axed it from their time table due to the Rugby World Cup starting in September.

A source told The UK Sun: “Fans will be gutted, but The Masked Dancer is being rested for 2023.”

“Instead, ITV are showing the Rugby World Cup over the autumn,” the source continued.

While the series might not be airing this year, fans can keep up to date with the series’ sister show The Masked Singer, which is airing at the moment.

The show follows the same concept, only this time around it is singers rather than dancers.

The latest people to be kicked off the series was  Jacket Potato, who was finally unveiled as Richie Sambora, and Jellyfish, who was finally unveiled as Glee’s Amber Riley.

After being unveiled, the Bon Jovi guitarist told host Joel: “It’s a wild reality when you do this show.”

While Amber said: “I really tried to pick songs that people would not recognise my voice.”

Fans were shocked to see Amber being voted off as she won the series in the US last year.
