Love Island’s Mary shares update on Aaron relationship

“Who knows about the future?”

Love Island’s Mary Bedford has explained why she went her separate ways with Aaron Simpson shortly after leaving the villa.

The couple were voted off just a week before the final, and while they appeared to be going strong, it seemed they broke up shortly after coming off the show.

On an episode of After Sun, Mary alluded to their split. She told host Laura Whitmore: “I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal we’re going to see how it goes, but I have definitely made a best friend in here.”

When asked if they could be more than friends, Mary said, “we’ll see where it goes”.

Yesterday, however, during a Q&A on Instagram, Mary explained that a number of factors went into their decision to split, chief among them was the recent loss of her grandmother.

The islander however said that she’s taking time for herself, but didn’t rule out a relationship with him just yet.

She wrote: “Coming out of the villa and finding out the news about my grandma completely threw me. I’ve never lost anyone close to me so it has been really hard to be honest.

“A result of this is my head is all over the place, and all I knew is I wanted to be back home surrounded by my loved ones.”

She continued: “Aaron is an amazing person who has been supportive about everything since we left the show but right now there’s no pressure on us, I will always be so grateful we met as he’s a massive part of my love island journey, but I’m focusing on getting my head back in the right headspace which is why I haven’t been crazy since coming out, but who knows about the future.”
