Love Island’s Sharon already has a connection to Molly-Mae

Ellen Fitzpatrick

She’s got a famous friend.

The Love Island names are in, and there’s always a chance that new contestants know some of those that have gone before them.

And one of this year’s newbies has a past islander pal that we all know and love.

Sharon, the 21 year old civil servant making her way to the villa used to work with Molly Mae Hague back in the day.

The new islanders have been interviewed and given us a little bit more insight about who they are ahead of the show beginning next week.

And Sharon was asked about any past islanders that she might know, shocking us that she knows the 2019 runner up.

When asked the big question, the newbie said: “I used to do pageants. Molly-Mae and I had the same pageant director. I was Miss International UK.”

The civil servant takes part in pageants across the UK, regularly posting about them on her Instagram, so it’s no surprise that she’s crossed paths with Molly Mae before.

Sharon isn’t just a pretty face either, she has done work as a Young Women’s Trust Ambassador on top of her pageant work.

She said: When I went to Japan for Miss International, I became an ambassador against domestic violence of women in Japan.”

“I did a few campaigns on period poverty and worked with a few organisations and charities. I signed up to be one of their sponsors and they approached me to become an ambassador.”

A self proclaimed “savage”, Sharon describes herself as “outrageous” and “quite outgoing”, so she’s definitely one to watch out for in the villa. We reckon she’ll be some fun.
