Macaulay Culkin just called out the ‘enormous plot hole’ in Home Alone

Kevin McCallister didn’t think of everything.

Home Alone is not only up there on the list of our favourite Christmas films of all time, it’s also up there with our favourite children’s films of all time.

Yes, the antics of little Kevin McCallister are some of the best movie moments of all time, however, the movie isn’t free of its flaws.

While we would never say a bad word about, its star Macaulay Culkin would.

The actor starred in the 1990 film and its sequel and was skyrocketed to fame quickly after its release. Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this weekend, the star of the film pointed out one of the major plot holes in the film.

“Looking back, is there any question you have about the movie?” host Jimmy Fallon asked the 38-year-old.

“Well, this kid’s a really clever kid, right?” Macaulay responded. “Like, these guys are about to break in, why doesn’t he just call the cops?

“He makes a master plan, he uses Micro Machines but for real, there’s a landline – he could have called the police.

“I think that’s the only thing and I think that’s an enormous plot hole.”

And while we don’t disagree with Culkin’s assessment, where would the fun in that be?
