Meghan Markle is making her first royal engagement with the Queen next week

Olivia Hayes

It will be her first royal engagement without Harry.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot last month, and it was a pretty grand affair.

However, in the months leading up to the wedding, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took part in many royal engagements, touring around the UK, and at one point event stopping off in Belfast.

But now, Meghan is due to make her first royal visit without Harry – however, she won’t be alone. Instead, she’ll be going with her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth.

According to the Court Circular, the Queen and Meghan will officially open the Mersey Gateway Bridge, at Catalyst Science Discovery Centre, Mersey Road, Widnes, Cheshire on June 14.

It has also been reported that the pair will have lunch at Chester Town Hall before they leave for the day.

A royal style rule was also outed during the week, where we found out that Meghan can’t wear some types of footwear.

An expert in this subject, Willian Hanson, spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about how open-toed footwear is generally frowned upon.

“Open-toed shoes are considered informal footwear and inappropriate for formal occasions”.

Inappropriate no less.
