Minnie Mouse honoured with star on Walk of Fame FORTY years after Mickey

Good things come to those who wait.

Minnie Mouse has finally got herself a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, just 40 years after her co-star Mickey Mouse. To celebrate the character's 90th anniversary, she was gifted with a special place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. Joined by Katy Perry and Heidi Klum, the unveiling ceremony took place outside the main Disney Store in Hollywood. Mickey got his when he turned 50 in 1978, and now Minnie has finally been honoured. Speaking at the event, Katy said:

"To this day no one rocks a bow, or the colour red or a dot quite like her. Trust me, I'm trying. Seeing Minnie is like returning home, it is a special skill to bring joy to so many and she does it with an effortless bat of a lash. So today, a brief 40 years after Mickey got his star, I am delighted to honour Minnie and her magic with hers."
