Soul singer Percy Sledge has passed away at the age of 73.
It was confirmed this afternoon that the star, best known for 1966 hit When A Man Loves A Woman, died at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Tuesday but the cause of death has yet to be released.
After leaving his previous career as a nurse, Sledge enjoyed several hits in the late 60s and 70s, including Woman, Warm And Tender Love and It Tears Me Up.
He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2005.
