Climate change is real.

Like, so real. Like, there is no debating it.

Like, animals are dying and the world is heating up an incredible amount and if we don’t do something soon, there won’t be any world left to live on.

It’s a horrifying fact, but it’s true, so we’d really want to sort ourselves out at some point over the next few years.

Someone who’s adamant that we absolutely need to sort ourselves out is David Attenborough. His new documentary, Our Planet, presents the devastating affects of climate change on our animals and mammals – the vast majority of which have depleted massively over the past few decades.

One animal that’s really struggling because of global warming is the walrus.

According to Our Planet, Russian walruses are finding it hard to survive due to the reduced amount of ice now available to them.

Many of the creatures now find themselves a fair bit away from water and ice, meaning that it’s even more difficult for them to see where they’re going.

This leads to many walruses falling to their deaths, and many audience members being severely traumatised by how graphic such scenes are.

What’s more is some viewers have called bull on the scene claiming that the walrus fall was taken out of context.

Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore said that the Russian walruses were actually trying to escape a polar bear and that this incident was widely reported at the time.

He also accused Attenborough of “certainly” being aware of this fact.

TMZ reports that Netflix have defended the controversial scene.

They’ve also stated that the walruses are forced to gather on unfamiliar land because of the lack of ice, leading them to more “dangerous” territory than they are accustomed to.

Netflix also told the publication that they worked with a Russian biologist who was very familiar with the walruses in question, and has been for about 35 years.

Whatever the truth, the walruses are struggling, guys.

Let us never forget our blubbery friends.
