The absolute perfect movie for cozy nights in.

One of the greatest comedy films of all time – Legally Blonde – is coming to Netflix soon.

Believe it or not, this staple of the genre came out 20 years ago, and it still holds a special place in our hearts.

The UK and Ireland Netflix account announced that the film would soon be available for streaming, and we cannot wait to give it a rewatch once it lands.

They tweeted: “2021 marks 20 years since Legally Blonde came out and it’s still simply iconic.”

In a follow up tweet, they wrote: “You can learn everything you need to know about law now on Netflix UK/IE.”

If, for some bizarre reason, you haven’t seen Legally Blonde before, then you’re in for a treat.

The movie follows the story of sorority sister Elle Woods, everyone’s favourite Gemini vegetarian. After being unceremoniously dumped by her boyfriend, Elle makes it her mission to win him back by applying to Harvard Law.

The film, which stars a young Reese Witherspoon, is an absolute joy to watch. As well as the iconic leading lady, Legally Blonde features a host of iconic characters including the villainous Vivian (Selma Blair), the lovable Paulette (Jennifer Coolidge) and of course, her beloved pooch Bruiser (Moonie).

On top of that, Legally Blonde also gave rise to so many memorable quotes that we still live by today. For instance, who among us could forget the classic “bend and snap”?

The box office success of the movie saw it spawn a whole film franchise. In Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde (2003), our heroine heads to DC to fight for animal rights.

Another sequel, titled Legally Blondes (2009) tells the story of Elle’s younger British cousins played by twins Camilla and Rebecca Rosso.

Legally Blonde 3 is set to hit our screens next May.
