In a desperate bid to beat Callum Logan in their custody battle, David Platt is set to fake a romance with his estranged wife Kylie when she returns to Weatherfield.
Following Kylie’s disappearance last year, viewers have watched David battle it out with Max’s biological father Callum in a bitter custody battle.

Kylie, who has been battling a drug addiction, returns to Weatherfield and is determined to stop her ex taking custody of her little boy.
Teaming up with her estranged husband David, the pair fake a reunion to help David finally win the custody battle, but after they are forced to share a kiss, Kylie admits to herself she still has feelings for her ex.

Questioning David on the chance of a future together, Kylie is left heartbroken when David tells her he won’t risk Max’s future by getting back together.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Coronation Street's producer Stuart Blackburn said:
"[Kylie is] going to come back right in the middle of the custody battle and she'll come back realising that because of her using drugs, because of her disappearing act, she might be losing Max forever.
"So there's big stuff for her. She's going to have to get her act together, she really is."
