The Strictly Come Dancing curse is stopping people signing up for the show

We’d probably steer clear too.

By now, most people know about the Strictly Come Dancing curse. Basically, if you’re in a relationship when you star in the TV show, it’s not going to last.

Over the years, numerous couples have been hit with the Strictly curse. The first couple considered to be affected by it were Natasha Kaplinsky and Brendan Cole, who were partnered up on the show.

The two had an affair while on the show and ended up splitting from their partners to get together.

Since then, the show has led to the death of many a relationship. Clearly the sensual dance moves are just too much to handle.

There are many factors that could contribute to relationship strain; the long rehearsal hours, being in such close-quarters with a dance partner, the stress of the competition, etc.

Whatever the reason, it remains the case that the show has caused couple after couple to make the split.

And now the curse is catching up to it.

This year, there are reportedly very few celebs who are willing to sign on to Strictly 2018. The show is having to take on some reality-show regulars.

Since the rise in popularity of reality tv shows, some lesser-known celebrities have used them as a primary source of income. The top culprit of this is TV personality Vanessa Feltz, who has appeared on a whopping 14 reality shows.

The most recent Strictly contestant to be revealed is former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.

This will be Ashley’s third celebrity reality show, after The Jump and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

This is similar to last year when the show signed serial-reality TV contestant, actress Gemma Atkinson.

Are people going off Strictly? Or are they just afraid of the outcome? It looks to us like the fear of the curse if too much for reality TV newbies.
