The first trailer for season three of Designated Survivor is finally here

‘The fight has just begun.’

The first trailer for season 3 of Designated Survivor is finally here – and it’s just as dramatic as you would expect.

After two seasons on ABC, the political drama will debut its third season – and its first on Netflix – on June 7.

The new footage shows the fallout after President Tom Kirkman wonder if he’s already messed up his reelection campaign after a confrontational State of the Union speech.

“Congress is truly in a sorry, sorry state. The system is broken – and you people broke it,” he shouts as he delivers his speech to congress.

And the uncertainty about what’s going to happen seems to cause some serious issues among Kirkman’s staff, as speechwriter/press secretary Seth Wright goes on a massive tirade about the state of journalism while in the press room.

Meanwhile, Hannah gets offered a new gig at the CIA, where the stakes are higher than ever.

The trailer also reveals who Kirkman’s pick for a running mate is: Aaron Shore – although things don’t seem to be going too smoothly there, either…

The season is said to be tackling “campaigning, smear tactics, debates, campaign finance and ‘fake news'” as President Kirkman seeks re-election as an Independent candidate.

Neal Baer will be the new showrunner for the political thriller – he’s the series’ fifth showrunner since its beginning – and Mckenna Grace, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, Tanner Buchanan, Maggie Q, and Kal Penn are all set to star alongside Sutherland.

If you need a catchup, Designated Survivor follows Tom Kirkman (Sutherland), a low-level cabinet member who’s thrust into the presidency after a terrorist attack during the State of the Union wipes out all predecessors for the office.

The first two seasons are currently on Netflix, so you’ve got plenty of time for a binge watch before Season 3 arrives.
