This 85 year old woman’s Game of Thrones cosplay is absolutely epic

All hail the Queen of Cosplay.

Keeley Ryan

The queen Westeros really needs.

Lady Olenna Tyrell has long been one of our favourite characters from Game of Thrones – but one fan of the HBO hit has gone above and beyond in her love for the Queen of Thorns.

Thousands of fans headed to Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend for the 2017 Dragon Con, but it was an 85 year old woman in a wheelchair that stole the show.

And we’ve got to say, we’re seriously impressed with her outfit.

Cautionary spoiler warning. This post contains spoilers from season seven of Game of Thrones.

The woman was dressed head to toe in one of Lady Olenna’s signature light blue and gold outfits, clutching a rose and wheeling around the convention in a wheelchair-turned-Iron-Throne.

And in a nod to the most recent season, she carried a reversible sign – with one side reading “not dead yet” and the other saying “it was me”.

The board was referencing Lady Ollena’s deathbed confession to Jamie Lannister, where she revealed that she was the one responsible for his son King Joffrey’s death.

Plenty of people at the convention stopped to get a photo with the Queen of Cosplay, with one person calling it “the best cosplay at Dragon Con 2017”.

We’d definitely have to agree.

We can all go home now; I've found the best #Cosplay at #dragoncon2017

It comes after show runner D.B Weiss admitted the Lady Olenna, played by Dame Diana Rigg, was the only character to “win” her death scene.

He told Entertainment Weekly:

“What I love about the way she plays the scene is that even though you leave the scene knowing she’s soon going to be dead shortly after you cut to black you still feel like she won.

“She’s probably the only character to win her own death scene.”
