If you want to take some time out from music at Electric Picnic, these are our top picks

Olivia Hayes

Are you ready for it?

Electric Picnic is only two and a half weeks away (yes, we’re counting – don’t judge us), and it’s safe to say we’re super excited.

It’s the festival of the year every year and 2018’s line up is certainly not disappointing.

However, if you fancy taking a bit of time out from the hustle and bustle of the music stages, then there’s some fab places for you to stop by.

Electric Picnic’s totally unique spoken word arena sees a couple of big changes with the addition of a new podcast stage called Ah, Hear! and a new writing and ideas stage called Manifesto.

The Word, Leviathan, An Puball Gaeilge, Dublin Theatre Festival Theatre Stage as well as the newly expanded Theatre of Food (YAS!) and DANCE DAYS by Dublin Dance Festival presenting yoga flow, boogie bounce, breakdance, ballroom, burlesque and more which is suitable for all levels.

If you’re a fan of Rubberbandits’ Blindboy Boatclub then you’ll be delighted to know that he will be presenting live editions of his extremely popular podcast to EP, which we can’t wait to go to.

And if you fancy something really different, the satirical news website Waterford Whispers News will present a Sky News-style special preview of their new live show which premieres in October… and you know that’s going to be good.

Electric Picnic returns to Stradbally from August 31 – September 2. See you there?
