Wear red socks and get a free pint of Smithwick’s.

We need little excuse to get ourselves to Kilkenny City. After all, it’s a cultural melting pot with so much to offer. The medieval city is kept vibrant and bursting with energy thanks to an endless amount of arts, crafts, festivities and entertainment. It has even been named the top trending destination this summer, beating the likes of Lisbon, Naples and Vienna.

During your visit, be sure to get yourself to Kilkenny Castle for a tour (think period rooms, rose gardens, tapestries in the Great Hall and a Moorish staircase), take a stroll along the River Nore, get to St. Canice’s Cathedral and Round Tower (and have yourself a beautiful view from the top) and opt for a cycling tour of the city — a superb way to see the city. Of course, it’s most definitely worth your while heading to the Smithwick’s Experience itself and witness 300 years of history combine with extraordinary brewing innovation.

It’s mighty impressive and to add to all the above, the folks at Smithwick’s have decided to bring an amusing element to your time in the Marble City THIS weekend — Friday 12, Saturday 13 from 6pm to 8pm and on Sunday 14 from 1pm to 3pm.

Being intriguing and different themselves, on Sunday, July 14, they want YOU to sport your most dashing pair of red stocaí and you’ll get your mitts on a FREE pint of the famous red Irish ale!

Then, if you’re wanting to treat yourself to a delicious meal that evening, you’ll be spoiled for choice too with the likes of Truffles restaurant for yummy European cuisine, Paris Texas on the main shopping street for delicious pub grub, or even the Michelin Star option that is the Lady Helen Restaurant — very fancy.

Now, to Kilkenny for our free pint!
