It’s all about flavour.

There’s nothing quite so plush, yet mellow, as sitting back and relaxing with a delicious nibble and a divine glass of wine.

Whether you’re playing host to a winter soirée at home or you plan to pop the feet up at home this Saturday night, ladies, here’s a simple yet delectable small dish that will work beautifully with your favourite wine. Most notable, however, is GatoNegro. We’re basing this on its greatest asset — its flavour.

Fruity, well-rounded and utterly delightful, GatoNegro is ideal for each and every occasion with family and friends. Priced between €8 and €8.50, it’s a no-brainer, friends. With this particular recipe, we recommend GatoNegro’s Merlot — delicious plum and vanilla flavours, medium-bodied with a smooth finish — you can’t go wrong. Prepare to leave tastebuds entirely satisfied.

So here it is, your scrumptious dish that is truly the ultimate crowd-pleaser.

Baked Brie in Puffed Pastry with Almonds and Honey

Ingredients

  • 1 wheel of brie cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • ⅓ cup of sliced almonds
  • 1 sheet of filo pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of water

Method

1. Lay the filo pastry carefully on your table, then place the wheel of brie in the centre.
2. Add the honey and almonds, then fold the pastry in from the sides, brushing with beaten egg mixture (egg and water) after each fold.
3. Bake at 200°C for 10 minutes.
4. Remove from the oven, add a little extra honey and almonds, bake for a further five minutes and voilà!

It really is that simple!

Now, to enjoy that exquisite taste…
