It's the weekend. You're chilling out. You're also going for a tour of a whiskey distillery - most notably the Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery that's just opened its doors in Offaly. You're eager for a bottle of whiskey but you don't know which one. You're gasping for a drink but you're not sure what's the best shout. You decide to blend your own whiskey and bottle it yourself, because that's something you can do now. Divine. Tullamore D.E.W. has this month introduced a new invention that will allow visitors to blend and bottle their own whiskey while touring their state-of-the-art distillery. The new 'Be the Blender' function is the first of its kind in Ireland (and the world) and allows people to create their own signature blend, complete with their name on the bottle, to then buy and take away. The process is unique, a whole load of fun, and pretty much a must for any whiskey connoisseur (or anyone who simply enjoys a little tipple every now and again).

John Quinn, Tullamore D.E.W. global brand ambassador, said: "As we gear up to welcome people back to Tullamore, we are so excited to open the doors of our new distillery experience and offer visitors something truly unique.

"As a nation renowned for its whiskey, tourists have an inherent curiosity about this liquid and are eager to learn more about its production from the experts who create it. We spotted an opportunity to bring visitors even closer to the whiskey making process, so now, everyone who visits the Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery is a VIP for the day.”

But if blending your own batch isn't quite up your alley, the new distillery also offers visitors the chance to explore the still house floor, check out the warehouse snug surrounded by the barrels, and even taste some whiskey straight from the cask.
