Lidl drops five new rosé wines ahead of bank holiday weekend

Rosé the day away with this latest drop.

The bank holiday weekend is finally here and to welcome it with open arms, Lidl has just dropped new bottles of rosé. When we think of basking the sun with a drink in our hands, the drink is always a glass of rosé, or is that just us? This limited edition rosé collection is exactly what we've got our eye on this weekend, but you'll have to act fast if you want to get your hands on some as once it's gone, it's gone. The five brand new bottles of rosé are now available in all 168 Lidl stores across the country while stocks last. And with prices starting at only €8, it would be rude not to pick one up. The "elegantly presented", "stunning summer-inspired bottles" come in a range of different tastes and flavours, so you're bound to find some that you'll adore. For €7.99 you can choose between the Balaton Kertje Rosé or the Frittmann Rosé Cuvée. For €8.99, Lidl has the Frittmann Rosé Cuvée and the Louis Raynald Coteaux Varois en Provence AOP. For €9.99, you can grab the Tavel AOP Rosé and for €11.99, you can taste the Varna Winery Rosé. But don't worry if you show up at Lidl and these are all sold out, the store has doubled its core rosé offering for the summer, so you'll be guaranteed to get something tasty. Not to mention you'll need it for June 25th to celebrate Internation Rosé Day in style. Lidl will be giving customers 25% off its Cimarosa Californian Zinfandel Rosé, making it just €4.71, what a bargain.

Lidl says: "This light and fruity wine is perfect to drink from midday to midnight whether having a cheeky glass alongside your alfresco lunch or an after dinner cool down served as a delicious watermelon frozé cocktail."

To make this to die for cocktail, all you'll need is 375ml of Cimarosa Californian Zinfandel Rosé Wine, half a chopped watermelon, two tablespoons of caster sugar and the juice of one lemon. Blend the rosé with the watermelon pieces, lemon juice and sugar. Pour into a tray and place into the freezer. Allow it to freeze for at least three hours or overnight. Then blend again, pour into 4 glasses and top with fresh mint leaves to serve.
