Celeb chef Gary O'Hanlon explained that there are actual worms called cod worms and herring worms, because they frequently burrow into fish and live off them.
“A piece of white fish like cod has lots of worms. And you [might not know it] and think that looks amazing but I look at it and say there’s a worm there and a worm there.”
It's not all bad news though, because if you find a live worm, it means that the fish is fresh and has not been frozen.
We might not eat fish for a while now though...
