Of those polled, nearly half (47 percent) believe that a food and drink thief is rampant in their place of work and over half (56 percent) have been victim of such a crime over the past twelve months.
This comes after Deliveroo for Business asked workers across the country whether their office lunch was staying put during the day. 61 percent said that at least once in the past, it had not been.
Four in 10 people have stopped taking food into the office because it keeps getting swiped, despite the fact that 74 percent said they know who the thieving culprit is.
“There is nothing more disappointing and enraging than working hard for elevenses, lunch or an afternoon snack only to discover that it has been swiped by an office thief," said Juan Diego, a spokesperson for Deliveroo for Business.
There are on average five emails sent office-wide every year about food that has been stolen.
