Starbucks is selling ‘premium bananas’ and just why

Ah, lads.

A banana's a banana. Everybody knows that - it's long, it's yellow, it grows on trees in lots of different countries. Fairly decent piece of fruit in fairness. The banana may be special, but it can also be fairly run of the mill. After all, we've all had one in many different shapes of forms, whether it be raw, as part of a dessert, or even in a sandwich if you're a bad person. But what if we told you that the regular, humble banana didn't have to be regular or humble anymore? What if we told you that there was a special kind of banana on the market made just for people like you - high power, special, and better than everyone? What if we told you that the 'premium banana' was here and you no longer had to spend your mornings, lunchtimes, and evenings chomping away on miserable, lay-people fruit anymore? To give some context as to how bad our plastic problem really is, to date there's been about 8.3bn tonnes of plastic produced in the world. And as of 2015, 6.3bn tonnes of plastic waste had been created - 9 percent of this was recycled, 12 percent was incinerated, and the rest ended up in landfills. According to the BBC, it takes about 450 years for a plastic bottle to biodegrade so, you know, a pretty long time to be unnecessarily sticking bananas in plastic bags for no reason.
