Dublin doughnut chain Aungier Danger have announced that they are "hanging up the apron" - and closing down. The news was first shared in a mini-statement on their Twitter and Facebook accounts. It read:

"Donut lovers, we hate to be the bearer of bad tidings...but we're officially hanging up the apron. "Full statement to follow. "Don't forget the vibes."

Others have been saying that they are sorry to see Aungier Danger go. The doughnut chain originally opened in Dublin in October 2015, where word of mouth (and social media buzz) led to it becoming the must-have treat. A few months after they opened on Aungier Street, they opened a second shop - this time on George's Street. Their third location, the on Merrion Row, was first opened late last year. Their store on George's Street had been closed for a little while and the Merrion Row shop shut down soon after it opened its doors. Meanwhile, a number of social media users have been saying that there is a 'To Let' sign above the Aungier Street location.
