The agency warned of the dangers of being tattooed, with inks causing itching, allergic reactions and skin loss listed as the disadvantages to being inked.
"Many reports show significant concerns for public health stemming from the composition of inks used for tattooing. "The most severe concerns are allergies caused by the substances in the inks and possible carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductively toxic effects."The ink used in tattooing is currently not regulated by any specific European law, with some shops even tattooing without certified Government regulation.
Scientists carrying out the report confirmed that red ink is the most dangerous of colours promising the most immediate agitation of the skin. Red was closely followed by blue, green and black causing long-term skin problems for people. The findings are set to crack down on the lack of regulation in relation to tattoo shops and the resources they use.Would you still get a tattoo even knowing the serious health risks?
