Over the years, brain fog has become a prominent part of my life. I attribute this to a busy pace of living that leaves me with less time to process and reflect on daily life to the extent I’d like to. I’m also fond of a night out, which has surely cost me a brain cell or two over the years. As I age, I naturally approach more tasks in autopilot mode, which can mean I sometimes forget why I’ve walked into a room, or that my recall of things I got up to yesterday is a little slower than I’d like.
There’s a Hollywood trend taking over the wellness world, and when I heard about this cutting-edge version of an age-old technology, I was extremely curious to see how it could impact my mental clarity.
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try the recommended six sessions of Exomind at Venus Medical in Carrickmines, under the supervision of Dr Peter Prendergrast.
Each session lasts just under 25 minutes, there’s no downtime, it’s completely pain-free, and it feels like a tapping sensation on the scalp.

Within weeks of completing my course of Exomind, I noticed a definite increase in my ability to move through tasks without being so easily distracted. I still can’t be trusted to do a wardrobe clearout without getting lost in an old diary, but there’s been a marked improvement in my focus.
It’s important to note that the results aren’t permanent, and this is something to consider if you’re thinking of trying it.
At €450 per session or €2,500 for six, Exomind falls into the price bracket of luxury treatments. If you’re strapped for cash, there are many other ways to work on your mental wellness that I’d try before investing. That could mean upping your exercise, eating better, or getting out into nature.
However, I can see why Hollywood stars are incorporating this treatment into their wellness routine. Sometimes a lack of mental clarity and low mood can hinder your ability to prioritise those basic solutions. With Exomind, you only need to show up, and the machine does the rest. This technology has been tried and tested for years, and for those who can afford it, it's hard to put a price on a good night's sleep and mental clarity.
It’s refreshing to see a treatment that focuses on mental strength and clarity in an era that’s so concerned with physical appearance.
Celebrities like Serena Williams have praised it, and Gwyneth Paltrow claims that Exomind left her “feeling clearer, more energised, and more like myself” as she navigates perimenopause.
Exomind is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared mental wellness treatment using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to improve mood, focus, sleep, and emotional regulation. This 30-minute "mental gym" session uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain regions.
"As women enter their 40s, they often experience perimenopausal symptoms of brain fog, fluctuations in mood due to normal hormonal changes during that period, problems with sleeping, and hot flushes as well. Exomind targets those key areas of the brain that can improve those symptoms significantly in just six short treatments over three weeks."
“The technology has been tried and tested over the last 40 years, so it's a little bit like Botox. Botox can be used for many, many years and millions of people, and it's extremely well studied."
Exomind is best suited for people who feel burnt out, suffer from brain fog, and are navigating perimenopause or hormonal shifts.
It is also suited for new parents, for people who want more energy, and those suffering from chronic stress.
