Us Irish love a good bargain, as the reaction to Aldi’s new fire pits has shown

Jade Hayden

If there’s one thing the Irish love, it’s a good deal.

Got a sale on? We’re there. Reduced a price a bit? Absolutely class. Introduce an extremely glam product that will upgrade your home massively but at an entirely reasonable price? Race you there, tbh.

Last week, Aldi announced that their latest home and garden event would feature the likes of a stunning fire pit and incredibly ambient log burner.

The products, retailing at €59.99 and €79.99 respectively, arrived in store today (April 30), and naturally, in true Irish fashion, we went mad for them.

And in fairness, they are fairly class like. We can’t leave the house that much these days, we may as well make our homes as stunning as possible.

It seems as if half the country had that exact thought too, because they flocked to Aldi stores as early as 5am this morning (!) to nab themselves a fire pit or a log burner.

Or maybe even both. Sure what else would they be spending their money on?

The fire pits and log burners, unsurprisingly sold out at record pace, leaving some people excited to spend the Bank Holiday weekend stuck at home with their new fire-based piece, cosied up outside with a hot chocolate or a glass of wine.

… And left others lamenting the fact that their back gardens will simply not be half as ambient and toasty warm this time around.

Sure, look. What can you do?
