This is Ireland after all, so be sure to bring all the essentials such as your raincoat, wellies, beachwear and lather on that sun cream, because yes, there are bound to be super-hot days too. One of our favourites is the Soltan Family Pack.

Here’s our list of the top 6 reasons that will surely have you anticipating your next trip to Kerry.

It’s breath-taking.

There’s no need to leave Ireland when the weather is warm, sure where else would you rather be? But Kerry is surely within the top three counties when it comes to spectacular views such as Ladies View and Moll’s Gap. With stunning scenes looking over the lakes and glacial valleys, everyone will be left in awe at just how magnificent and picturesque Kerry really is.

Upcoming events

There’s never any shortage of festivities in Kerry, but August seems to be a particularly busy month. Dingle Racing Festival takes place on the 11 August, where you can expect two days in one of the oldest racing festivals in the calendar. Killarney’s 5km Wild Air Run is being held on 12 August where you can expect the entire place to be filled with colourful, bouncy obstacles. Not to be missed is the Rose of Tralee, Killarney Summerfest kicks off on the

Killarney National Park

When the remarkable Muckross Estate was handed over to the State in 1932, Killarney National Park would become the country’s first national park. Steeped in history and among the island’s biggest oak trees, it’s easy to find yourself enthralled by the views, the wild native red deer that roam the land and Muckross lake (also known as the middle lake of the three in Killarney) which you may find yourself having a dip in if the beautiful weather decides to stay around.

It’s Hollywood famous too

If you’d like to be able to say you have been to the set of a Star Wars movie… well Skellig Michael might just hold the key to your dreams. The Last Jedi and The Force awakens both had scenes filmed here. Of course, the bigger of the Skellig islands has plenty more to offer as it’s also a 6th century monastic settlement.

Food and hospitality

With Killarney having the highest concentration of four and five-star hotels in the country, there should be no shortage of luxury stays, so keep an eye out online for any special deals you can get your hands on. You’ll also see oodles of attractive B&B’s dotted throughout Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.

Beaches like no other

Kerry boasts many of the most stunning and picturesque beaches in Ireland. Ballinskelligs beach is known for its long, spacious and golden sand beaches, while Ceann Trá beach holds a blue flag status and is surrounded by fields of green. Derrynane and Inch beach have also been extremely popular beaches for their beauty, having a place within the top 10 beaches in Ireland. Definitely worth a trip.
