Action-Packed Weekend Of Ladies Football Quarter-Final Action Ahead

There’s another big weekend of footballing action ahead this weekend as the TG4 All-Ireland football quarter-finals get underway. On Saturday, Armagh will go head-to-head with Ulster champions Donegal at 12.30pm in Clones. In what is set to be a close affair, Armagh will have to dig deep with a number of injuries in the camp and, despite beating Donegal previously in the League final, will have a tough task ahead of them on Saturday. An on-form Aimee Mackin could prove crucial to the Armagh attack, but Donegal may well be prepared for her after learning their lesson in the Division 2 final, while Geraldine McLaughlin will be the main target for Donegal. Scores will undoubtedly be at a premium in what is set to be a close and tight encounter. The second game of the day will see Leinster champions Dublin take on Monaghan at 2.15pm also in Clones. Dublin take the crown of favourites going into this game by virtue of their Leinster final win but will face off to an extremely experienced Monaghan side. The battle between Sharon Courtney and Dublin’s danger woman Lyndsey Davey will be one to watch, as too will be the likely clash between Sinead Goldrick and Caoimhe Mohan. The winners of Saturday’s games will face off in the semi-final on September 5^th. Meanwhile in the Intermediate championship, Kildare will go head-to-head with Wexford. The sides have already met this year, with Kildare winning out well in the end. However, Wexford have progressed significantly since that clash and should pose a tough challenge to the Lily Whites. Meanwhile, Ulster Intermediate champions Fermanagh may be favourites to progress against Offaly, but Offaly have an impressive Róisín Egan and an on-form Mairead Daly in the fold, and we think it's going to be a tough one to call.
