Madonna Badger, the ad executive behind the #WomenNotObjects video, has called on other advertisers to follow her lead.

The CEO of ad agency Badger & Winters, created the below video to show how ads objectifying women are “harmful to young women and can undermine their self-esteem and self-confidence”.

As told to The Wall Street Journal, Madonna’s goal is to get “ad agencies and marketers to stop using women as objects in their advertising and communications”.

Madonna kick-started the campaign by pledging that her agency will not “create ads that use women as props or objectify them” and she hopes others follow suit.

She also discussed the fact that she herself contributed to the problem in the first place, referring to the famous Calvin Klein campaign featuring Kate Moss and Mark Wahlberg.

Now she hopes that the #WomenNotObjects campaign will bring about a change in how advertisers portray women.
