One time I was on a flight and it had WiFi called WiFly and to be honest, for as long as I live I will remember that.
That was some years ago and it cost a bomb and I haven’t actually seen it on any other place since. Not that I’m a frequent traveller mind.
So it has come as a welcome surprise this morning that Aer Lingus have gone and added WiFi to their short haul flights.
Yes, gone are the days when all electronic devices had to be switched off for fear and incoming message could derail the whole vessel.
Customers will be able to avail of 4G broadband on board because of a new deal between the airline and satellite company Inmarsat.
And even better, the company that owns Aer Lingus is rolling out the service on all its other airlines.
It will be available on British Airways flights in summer 2017, with the Wifi service becoming available on Aer Lingus, Vueling, and Iberia flights later in the year.
IAG has said that they expect 90% of their aircrafts will be fitted with the service by 2019.
So there you have it, you’ll never miss a moment.
