Sydney model Berenger Rose has released harrowing video footage purportedly showing how her husband physically abused her.
In the footage, which we have decided not to feature on site due to its violent nature, Berenger is seen pleading with her husband to stop hurting her.
According to 9 News, the model alleges that the abuse began after they got married and moved to Queensland away from her family and friends in Sydney.
Speaking to Australian TV programme A Current Affair, Berenger said that her husband, Shane Cuthbert, would record the beatings and share the videos with his friends.
Berenger said that her harrowing ordeal began with a “slap to the face” and the abuse eventually escalated to him throwing “her head into a brick wall”.
Shane is currently in police custody although none of the charges against him are believed to be linked towards the alleged abuse inflicted on his wife.
Speaking about her reasons for sharing the footage and her story, the model said “I just want other women, if they are in the same situation as me, to know that it’s a long dark tunnel but there is a light. There’s a light at the end and you can get there too”.
