Happy Nollaig na mBan!
January 6 marks Nollaig na mBan, or as others like to call it, Women’s Christmas.
While back in the day it was based around giving women a rest from doing the housework, today it primarily centres around celebrating every woman’s contribution to society.
It’s also supposed to be the day that the three wise men arrived in Bethlehem after Jesus was born, aaand when you’re supposed to take down your Christmas decorations.
Twitter was flooded with tweets about it, so we picked out a few of our faves to share:
Girls, today is your day #NollaignamBan. Traditionally it was the day to rest after all the Christmas chores and cooking. Even if you didn’t do those bits, take the day off anyway…… you deserve it ?#LouthChat #NetworkLouth pic.twitter.com/qseVCBuTql
