A bride has taken the title “bridezilla” to the next level by holding an auction among her friends to find her bridesmaids. What’s even worse is that she wanted to use the proceeds as a way of funding her wedding and the honeymoon.
The absolute cheek.
Choosing a bridesmaid can sometimes be tough because you may have lots of close friends that you would love to have standing with you. Throwing in an auction to see who can pay the most is definitely not the way to solve the dilemma and certainly not to profit from it.
The bride’s sister has complained about the situation on Reddit calling her sister “self-absorbed”. She said that she has no awareness of how it looks for her to ask her friends to bid for a place in her bridal party.
Explaining in the comments, she said:
“My sister is kind of shallow (bet you’d never have guessed, right?) and mainly only associates with rich people, or more accurately people with rich families since none of these young 20s girls have ever held a job in their life unless it’s at their parents’ investment firm.
So most of the people she sent these to have the money for this kind of thing. But I know she also sent a few to older friends of hers, like from high school or earlier, who she’s not only lost touch with as they got older but also were from lower income backgrounds. She has no awareness about how inappropriate it is in many ways.”
