Your bank balance will thank you for it.

This time of year can be seriously tough on funds. From weddings to holidays, it’s the time of year that our social calendar is at its most full and therefore our finances at their most dire.

Yep, making it to payday is a big challenge especially when you’re evenings are totally occupied with after-work drinks and the odd (we’re sugarcoating) takeaway.

And while we’d likely save plenty giving up those few hobbies, we’d rather make a few other changes that will have little-to-no impact on our current day-to-day life.

So, here are five easy ways to save you some dosh without sacrificing too much.

1. Coffee change-up

Switching from your usual caramel latte to a hazelnut americano can save you roughly than €1.50 per cup. Might not sound like a lot, but with five cups a week, that can save you €30 a month if not more.

2. Coupon queens

Extreme Couponing has taught us one thing – that you can save yourself a serious sum if you make use of discount codes and vouchers. Sites like Groupon offer some serious deals – you’d be a fool not to have a gander.

3. Budget cinema nights

Love a cinema night? Well, of course you do but they can be hella expensive. However, many cinemas offer cheaper tickets on certain nights of the week. Figure out what night your local cinema goes budget and work around that.

4. Be clever with currency

We’ve told you about this little trick before, but switching the currency online when shopping can save you a serious amount of money. You can save up to 20 percent on items on ASOS and Topshop simply by changing the currency to GBP before heading to the checkout.

5. Don’t worry, be appy

There are lots and lots of apps with the sole purpose of helping you to save money. Yes, you can get yourself your very own personal accountant right on your phone thanks to apps like Spending Tracker.
