Kerry never gave up throughout, and held their own in the first half, going in at the break just two points down (0-5 to 0-3).
However, Carlow found themselves in the driving seat in the second half and points from Player of the Match, Eleanor Treacy, Michelle Nolan and Ciara Quirke added to an impressive final tally and ultimately, drove them to All-Ireland glory.
This is the side's third trophy this year following League and Leinster final glory earlier this season.
Meanwhile in the Liberty Insurance Premier Junior championship semi-finals, Laois overcame Westmeath 1-16 to 0-8, while Roscommon overcame Dublin 1-9 to 1-5 to tee up a Laois/Roscommon All-Ireland final in Croke Park on September 13th.Explore more on these topics:
