Friends actress Courteney Cox has become the latest celebrity to lend her support to the Repeal the 8th campaign.

Courteney took to Twitter to share a video created by Irish actors and actresses, asking people to vote yes on the referendum being held on May 25.

With a link to the video, she simply said: “Repeal the eight!!!”

The video includes Saoirse Ronan, Cillian Murphy, Andrew Scott and Liam Cunningham as well as a list of top Irish actors who are showing their support behind the ‘Together For Yes’ campaign in the video published on the campaign’s social media channels last weekend.

The powerful and chilling video lists the variety of ways in which women are currently affected by the 8th Amendment in this country and calls for this to change, saying: “For women’s safety, for a just society, for a fairer Ireland”.

Just yesterday, Modern Family star Sarah Hyland tweeted her support too.

The 27-year-old wrote on Twitter:

“I am a woman. I am Irish. I have a slew of health complications that COULD put me in a situation where I would be forced to make a heartbreaking decision.

“If I was a resident of Ireland, the laws in place would kill me. I understand this all too well.”
