Dog dies from a heart attack after being afraid of Halloween fireworks

This is so upsetting.

Winston was a big, loveable Moscow watchdog, who was terrified of loud bangs and noises.

And sadly, he suffered a heart attack last week, and passed away from fear.

Winston was diagnosed with a heart condition earlier this year and was put on medication.

He lived happily at the Dogs4Rescue centre, Manchester.

On Bonfire Night, the cuddly guy tried to hide from the Bonfire Night noises and bangs under some decking.

Sadly, by the time Dogs4Rescue staff found Winston, he had already died.

Naturally, fireworks had been going off quite a lot, but the staff made the decision to let Winston out to the toilet.

They thought the noises had stopped, but they hadn’t.

The centre said Winston was “the most loyal dog I have ever known and I will miss that more than anything.”

And now, after the passing of Winston, the centre is appealing to people, asking them not to let fireworks off near animal shelters.

The posted on Facebook:

Each year so many of us watch the devastating effect fireworks have on animals and every bangs hurts my heart thinking of the unnecessary fear and suffering it causes them.”

“Fireworks are selfish and their effects last much longer for the animals than the momentary “wow” factor that people experience. Whoever set those off last night… well their effects have devastated us and shortened his life with a bang. The effects of those fireworks will stay with us forever.”
