An ESPN reporter has been suspended from work and branded a 'Regina George' after footage of her bullying a parking attendant emerged online.
An online campaign has been launched to encourage the channel to fire sports host Britt McHenry after a video in which she verbally insults another woman's education and appearance went viral.
In the clip, 28-year-old McHenry can be heard saying "I’m in the news, sweetheart, I will f****** sue this place" before later adding "I'm on television and you're in a f**king trailer, honey" and "lose some weight, baby girl".
Her actions have drawn similarities with the domineering character played by Rachel McAdams in hit movie Mean Girls and angry fans have taken to Twitter to share their anger at her actions with the #firebrittmchenry hashtag.
ESPN have since suspended McHenry for one week but viewers are still threatening to boycott the channel unless further action is taken.
McHenry has apologised for her actions in a brief statement.
"In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things. As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake."
