A little girl has reportedly been removed from her family home after a video showing her mother struggling to keep her eyes open on a bus was uploaded online.
The video, which was posted on the
People of Septa (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) Facebook page last week, shows the little girl trying to rouse her mother on a bus.
Following an outcry from the public, the Department of Human Services along with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit launched an investigation.
They then decided to remove the little girl from her mother’s custody over the weekend. The 26-year-old woman in question, who has not been identified by US media, was not charged with any crime.
According to
Philly.com, her court records show convictions on charges of theft, disorderly conduct and promoting prostitution while being an inmate in a house of corrections.
