Here are the top 10 most Googled recipes in Ireland for 2017

Louise Carroll

Well if you thought avocado was at the top of everyone’s list – think again!

If you’re someone who regularly uses Google to whip up a glorious meal, you have contributed to Google’s Year in Search report, which gives tremendous insight into what folks have been searching for this year.

We already know we’re a nation of right old foodies, and although we love a typical Irish feast, we don’t mind straying the odd time to ensure a well-rounded palate.

As 2017 comes to a close, here’s what trumped our food Googling list of the past year. It turns out, although we love our cooking, we certainly have no fear of baking!

From our top recipe search to our tenth, we have;

1. Spaghetti Bolognese

2. Chilli con carne

3. Beef stroganoff

Okay let’s just stop right there. We can already assume plenty of us were cooking up some rather fancy feasts. And they were not at all following the foodie trends of the year. Oh, you rebels you!

4. Guacamole (Aha! There it is!)

And now, the bakers…

5. Pavlova (easy and fool-proof)

6. Banana bread

7. Pancakes (Ah lads, they’re easy as pie)

8. Scones

9. Banoffee pie

10. Fish pie

Very fancy and luxurious might we say! It seems us Irish have no qualms about making our own way around the kitchen.
