A planned strike by Aer Lingus staff will not go ahead as planned next week.

According to The Sunday World, IMPACT Trade Union has confirmed that strike action has been suspended pending consideration of a Labour Court recommendation, which will be issued on Thursday.

The row has arisen from a disagreement on roster requirements for cabin crew, with further strike action likely if a compromise cannot be reached. The two parties have been in talks for two days in a bit to avoid industrial action, with IMPACT’s General Secretary Michael Landers confirming he was “content that some progress had been made”.
