Important information for fans attending Bruno Mars in Marlay Park next week

Heading to Bruno Mars next week?

Well, then you might want to read up on some of these important tips and guidelines released by MCD today ahead of the gig.

The gig which takes place on July 12, 2018, will open its gates at 5:30 pm to the concert grounds. If you are planning on queueing early you might want to think again as no pre-queueing is being permitted and anyone who tries will be turned away and told to come back at the specified time above.

Here are the guidelines…

  • Early queueing will not be facilitated at the venue. Concert-goers who do turn up prior to gates opening will be turned away.
  • There will be a strict NO Alcohol Policy implemented on all public transport and private buses travelling to the venue.
  • Please do not arrive at the event intoxicated as you will not be permitted entry.
  • There is no re-admission to these concerts.
  • Note that the concert may be recorded for visual and audio broadcast.

It’s also important to note the BANNED items, these are not permitted on to the grounds and will be confiscated and not returned with a massive emphasis on NO backpacks.

The banned items include the following…

  • Backpacks and large bags will not be allowed, only small bags measuring no bigger than A4 (8.27in/21cm × 11.7/ 29.7cm) will be permitted into the event.
  • Garden furniture, deckchairs, fold up chairs or shooting sticks, umbrellas, selfie sticks, flares/fireworks, laser pens, megaphone/air horns, aerosols, spray cans, smoke & gas canisters, nitrous oxide & any associated equipment, glass, drones, Chinese lanterns, sound systems, unofficial tabards/high viz.
  • Illegal/unidentifiable substances, “legal highs, herbal highs or NoS.
  • Anything that can be perceived as a weapon or which could cause danger or disruption to any other persons at the event.
  • Professional cameras with a detachable lens, recording equipment, Go Pro’s.
  • Note that catering and bar facilities are available inside the venue. NO ALCOHOL or DRINKS are permitted to be brought into the venue with the exception of water and soft drinks in sealed plastic bottles up to 500ml.
  • Animals with the exception of guide dogs.
  • Excessive amounts of cigarettes.

And finally, nobody under 16-years-old who is not accompanied by an adult is allowed into the event. You must be able to provide valid ID when asked and you must be over the age of 18-years-old to purchase alcohol on site and once again, show VALID photograph ID proving your age.

  • Acceptable forms are: Passport, Garda Age Card, Driving Licence
  • Acceptable forms of ID for Under 18’s are: School or College ID PLUS a colour copy of your in-date passport.
  • Please note that if you look significantly younger or different in your passport photo, you may be asked for an additional proof of ID. All ID’s must be in date.
  • Please note that our bars operate a Challenge 21 policy.
  • Acceptable proofs of age are: Passport, Garda Age Card, and Driver’s Licence.
